I wanted to keep a female from this litter, but had two good show homes for females already, and my mom wanted a male for my little brother.  He turned out to be the best dog I ever bred.  I didn't show him much, or at any little shows because I liked him so much, I wanted him to win big every time I showed him.  He did!  At his first show, Chase won a 5-point specialty Best of Winners from the 9-12 class.  Shown only in Puppy and Bred By Exhibitor, he finished with ALL (4) majors in 15 shows.  His first time as a special, he beat out Rock for a Best in Specialty win!  He won another Best in Specialty that fall (1995), and had several BOB's, but was shown only a little since Rock was still being campaigned at the time.  I started dabbling in the field with him, and got a 4th in an Amateur Walking Puppy stake with him.  He later got another Open Puppy placement handled by Pennie Peterson; later still I tried him in Junior Hunter and he got two legs toward his JH.

In 1998, after I'd moved out and knew I wouldn't be able to give Chase the opportunity to achieve what I knew he could, he went to live in Texas with Keith & Tammi Johnson.  There, Chase won several more BOB's, a third Best in Specialty win, and 1st Award of Merit at the 1999 ABC Summer Specialty.

Then in the Spring of 2001, Chase was lucky enough to settle in for good with Dawn & Joe Droel in Minnesota. In less than a year at his final, perfect home, Chase won two more Specialties, a big Group First, two Group placements, finished his Junior Hunter title, and ended the year winning Best In Veteran Sweepstakes at the ABC National Specialty! He earned a total of 9 Best in Specialty Show wins (4 from the Veteran Dog class), and finished his Senior Hunter title at the age of 10-1/2. After also completing his American & Canadian CD titles in obedience, Chase was happily retired and is enjoying the good life at home with the Droel family. He celebrated his 16th birthday with the Droels in 2009.

Since his passing, Chase's frozen semen has been used to produce several nice litters, and he's gone on to produce more winners and Champions! We are especially proud of his Best in Show winning son, GCh. Sovereign's Chasing Legends, who is breeder-owner-handled by the Droels.

Hey...that looks familiar!
