Nick's sire DC HVK Turns Back Time (Mick) was a field trial client that Ed finished in the field, and I had finished his sire DC/AFC Redlines Tequila Smoker in shows. Smokey was the sire of our DC Alar's Tango Bar, and his dam was a top winning daughter of NAFC/GFC/AFC Spanish Corral's Sonny Patch. This background along with Mick's strength, style and personality made him a great match for Shelby, so we did this breeding even before he completed his field and show titles.

While I had hoped to keep a girl from this litter, there was only one girl born, and instead, Nick caught Ed's eye! A bold and adventurous young pup, Nick was running with confidence and pointing with style from a very young age. He was a consistent placer in Puppy stakes before earning his points at the last trial of the season (in the nick of time!).

We entered a few dog shows in the summer of 2024 just to get him started in shows, and he surprised us by finishing his title in just 8 shows, with 4 major wins!

Back to the field, Nick had Derby placements and is now "green broke", ready to run in adult stakes in 2026. He continues to please Ed with his running and pointing style, and all of us with his always happy, easy temperament! Every day is a good day for Nick! We look forward to seeing how he progresses in his quest for his Dual Championship.
